Anticipation is one of the universe’s kindest gifts to us. The future is gently placed in our arms, but our eyes are blindfolded. Regardless, we smile. We feel this small bundle of hope, love, fear, joy, loss and peace, with our hands. A collection of the moments we will yet experience sits a heart beat away. We search for a nook we can worm our fingers into to find some glimmer of what the future looks like.
Gently, we tussle, peel, smell Future and imagine for ourselves what Future feels like. Is it warm? Is it loving? Is there reason to fear? Most of all, is it happy?
Truly, we will never meet Future, but the anticipation is enough for us. We live in the present, the most important gift we have, and think of what could happen next. What plethora of opportunities there are, who we may meet, what songs we may hear.
That is enough Future for us.
